Deus Ex Mankind Divided Review

After a few years from the previous events in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Adam Jensen returns in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to take down a terrorist cell from unleashing a biological weapon in dominating  augmented humans in a new form of terrorism across Europe and all over the world.

Saving Mankind from Terror again…

Adam Jensens Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

In the year 2029, Adam Jensen has now left his private security position with Sarif industries and has relocated to Prague, Czech Republic to work with an Interpol unit known as Task Force 29 (TF29) to further investigate a rebel augmented group known as the Augmented Rights Coalition (ARC) in finding out whether or not they are involved in the terrorist attack that has happened in Prague as well as finding connections to a biological weapon called “Orchid” that is destroying augmented humans across Europe and potentially could destroy augmented humans across the world.

For Agent Jensen, his main mission connects all the dots together between investigation reports from TF29 to known organizations including VersaLife, a contractor organization working with Interpol who maybe connected with the Orchid weapon in some way.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided Gameplay

As from Human Revolution, much of the same ideas are brought back for Mankind Divided with the player having the option of playing stealthy or going in to each main and side-mission guns a blazing. Exploring through each mission and area of Plague makes Deus Ex: Mankind Divided enjoyable to play as you can explore around to hack into other resident’s safes and restricted rooms for XP points. Also, exploring each area of the mission for different ways of infiltration can be handy to staying out of sight to bypassing heavily guarded areas.

In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, there are a variety of side missions and quests that you can find around Prague whether it is recovering information, rescuing or eliminating someone for your contacts that you meet on the streets.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Hacking View

A look at the new hacking interface in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

One change that has happened from Human Revolution to Mankind Divided is the change of the hacking interface

view which still has the same concept of hacking keypad terminals from knowing the hacking level to understanding the best route to the node with the least possibilities of being detected. Of course, you can still fortify each connection as well as using software to get through the hacking process quicker such as the overclock or stealth software.

For Jensen’s augmentation powers, there are some new additions found in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided that can be used to your advantage. One of the newest augs that is used in Mankind Divided is the remote hacking aug which can be used to hacking and disabling electronic and security connected-devices such as turrets, cameras, laser grids, bots, drones, control panels, and other devices found.

The tesla aug is another new aug that can be expected to be used in non-lethally taking out multiple enemies. This aug releases electric arcs from Jensen’s hand that target the enemies you mark at once to fire upon.

Exploring around each area from the first mission to the last, there is also an opportunity to go on a quest to find all “triangle codes” for a trophy or achievement. There are 35 total in the game…

Personal Views of Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Jensen pulling out the 10mm pistol

What can I say about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided???Eidos Montreal and Square Enix continues to impress with the Deus Ex games as they get better to explore through in general. Again, I was impressed with the stealth mechanics in this game itself and the sensitivity of the enemy AI and security systems. Mankind Divided allows you as Jensen to pick a variety of routes to reach certain areas as well as options on how you want to play through the game.

The challenge of maintaining stealth throughout the levels and side missions are fantastic and the key if you don’t want to take out the enemies and just learn their patrol patterns.

In addition to stealth, Mankind Divided for me gave you any augment ability that you wanted to buy and use; but, if you wanted to play through the game stealthy, you may find that just using the cloak, tesla, remote hacking, and smart vision augmentations would be all you need for a stealth walk-through of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Also, since the Icarus Dash is another great augment that you can add to Jensen which could bypass or get through the electric shock and gas hazards found throughout the levels in the game or to reach higher ground as needed.

Since playing for stealth, the weapons you could get away with using in Mankind Divided can be just using the 10mm pistol with emp rounds only, stun gun, and emp grenades. For combat, use whatever is necessary…
